The natives believed to be miraculous for it survived the fire that gutted the structure that housed it but had totally blackened it in the process and another church was built ordered by Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and Fr. Urdanita on that year. It was burned again in 1628 until it was rehabilitated 1740 a blending of Muslim, Romanesque and neo classical features also retains the original coral stone texture and natural color.
